Helping kids listen better with connection and communication strategies
Chichi U.
I love Dinalynn’s quick tactical tips on how to build deep and meaningful relationship with your kids. Her voice is so soothing and encouraging and it makes you feel hopeful as a parent. I’ll definitely be asking my kids the question “what do I do that makes you feel loved?” This podcast is a must listen for parents raising kids!

Dinalyn brings such a refreshign approach to connecting with your kids through play. Her credibility as a speech language pathologist adds to the insight gained. Such great info here for moms of littles!
A coaching program to help parents teach their kids to speak and listen better - which always yields improved behavior, connection and communication in your home.
If you are dealing with a Speech and Language Delay, teaching Dual-Languages in your home, or if your child is developing language normally, improving language skills improves our life, relationships and happiness.
It’s time to speak in ways your child’s brain understands so you can build deeper connection while managing behavior. Learn how to deal with those big emotions. Improve talking and listening skills. Set boundaries that make sense. And, build deep meaningful family connection. Understanding your child is going to be easier than you think!
Dinalynn was wonderful at helping us deal with real situations that came up and brainstorm ways to react better the next time something similar happens. By learning to pay close attention to the things that are below the surface, that cause children to react the way they do, she taught us to become something of a detective to figure out what is going on emotionally and physically with our child. We are certainly not perfect parents after this course, but we have a clearly defined path now and have made noticeable progress. Taking the time to learn these skills that Dinalynn is teaching enables us to set our kids up for success as adults, boosting their confidence, self-esteem, and sense of responsibility within the family, which makes them feel like more a part of the family team. With these tools, we can talk to them in a way that they'll both hear and understand what we want from them and feel respected in the process. If you want to build parenting skills right now that will affect your relationship with your children for the rest of your lives, take Dinalynn’s course. You won’t regret it.

Dinalynn has been phenomenal for us as parents. She’s helped us look at our girls
behavior differently. She’s helped us see them as the age-appropriate “explorers”
and boundary-pushers that they are designed to be at their age. Dinalynn has
helped us think differently about how to pay attention to our kids, how to
respond in healthier and more fruitful ways. She’s got us thinking now about how
to work with our girls to help them become the kind of adults we hope they’ll be
someday – and that is absolutely HUGE. We can’t recommend Dinalynn highly
enough – we’d refer her to our closest friends

You can sense Dinalynn’s generous and humble spirit in all she does. She is honest and has often shown me how to make the most of life even with its ups and downs. Dinalynn is a gem!
“The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful, to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.” This quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder reminded me of things I’ve learned from you.
~ Dewey Kraus
Dinalynn present a positive energy those in her obit. She listens before speaking. She takes time to reflect and seek what is not at first apparent. Dinalynn is able to communicate clearly and calmly. My association with her has been a relationship of trust, knowing she would value my opinion even when we had different perspectives. As a colleague, Dinalynn brought a wealth of information and experience to each situation, always respectful and resected.

An Overview of the program:
MODULE 1
Brain science – When we understand the basics of the child’s brain, you know why they do what they do. You will learn to see what they are thinking about and learning. You can communicate in ways the child’s brain understands! It’s not what you might think!
MODULE 2
Parenting style – How you were parented impacts how you parent your children. Identify your default settings and learn how to keep what you like and implement changes you want. This important work underpins your understanding of your child and their behaviors.
MODULE 3
Child needs and expectations – Sometimes what our children ask for isn’t best for them. Learn to use healthy boundaries to protect, support, encourage, and connect with your kiddos in ways that don’t compromise what you want nor feel like the bad guy!
MODULE 4
Behaviors – A child’s communication is imbedded in their behavior. Learn to speak in ways that calm the brain, dispel fear, and connect with your child at the heart. You will learn how pre-teach into a situation with communication what makes sense to your child so you can set them up for success.

Absolutely!! And Always!! When we meet, you will have already filled out intake forms so I will know what your main concerns are. As we begin, we will focus on what makes the biggest change in your home that meets what your desires. So whether you want to know how to teach your child how to speak a particular sound or if you want help to communicate because of tantrums at the grocery store, that is what we will work on.
A: No. I have lessons that will help you succeed at your goals. It is more important that you learn to implement what you learn. We will move at the pace you are able. When the 8 sessions are done, we can discuss what support you feel you need.
A: I expect that! This course is not centered on the child’s needs. It is centered on YOUR needs as a Parent to have the skills for the varying needs of children. If you bring something to me that I am not qualified to discuss, I won’t guess. I will be straight forward and honest.
A: I focus on teaching parents how to help their kids. Occasionally kids join for a bit, but my focus is parent education.
A: Yes! That is the mission! I intend to empower you with strategies and tools to better communicate, connect, and educate your kiddos. I want you to confidently be able to shift your family towards greater connection, cooperation and learning.

I do meet in homes with families when requested. Prices varies depending on details.
A: I know life happens. I am happy to accommodate you with changing the schedule. Please let me know as far in advance as possible so others can have that slot.
A: Yes! And this is encouraged! If your family and friends that you co-parent with, come together, you will become each other’s support. I love that. Group discounts are available. Please email me at hello@thelanguageofplay.com for more information on this idea!
